The team is growing and we launched a new community event.
We held a special Open House in Melbourne in June, to welcome our new MD (Matt) to the community!

Hey there ,

Welcome to your June Edition of the Code for Australia newsletter.

We have many, many updates to share with you and a few opportunities for you to get involved in our work to build a 21st century government in Australia - let's dive in!

In May, we launched a new community program - Civic Makers - which brings folks from the public sector, together with not-for-profits and community members to collectively make progress on key challenges facing Melbourne. The events are open to any who want to join and are currently based in Melbourne, though there's whispers of a Sydney chapter on the way...

This week the team is heading up to Sydney to deliver a custom Tech for Non Tech class, while our open Melbourne class is filling up quickly!

We'll also be visiting Sydney a bit more as we work alongside the Public Service Commission in NSW, to help benchmark the transformation journey of a handful of agencies using our Digital Maturity Assessment. Stay tuned for updates!

Needless to say, with all this work underway, we're looking for a special someone to join the team and help us make everything run smoothly.

As always it's great to have you in our community, thanks for letting us be a part of your inbox.

Small steps in a good direction lead to great things. Here's a few things we think are definitely worth celebrating.

Some of our facilitator team, Lina Patel and Ben Ralph, have just returned from South Africa where they helped onboard Code for Japan and Open Up as new delivery partners of Tech for Non Tech. A huge thank you to Code for All for supporting us to make this happen!

While our last Open House was dedicated to welcoming Matt and sharing his plans for the future, we had an smaller, internal Open House for the Fellowship teams to share what they were working on. We are thrilled with how well each team is tackling uncertainty, and pioneering new paths with each of their government hosts. To Kate, Damian, Michelle, Kynan, Adrian, Yalda, Julian and Murph - congrats! You're all doing amazingly.
