Hey ,

For our old friends, welcome back, and to our new friends, welcome onboard. The Code for Australia newsletters are where we share updates from the team, opportunities to get involved, and all our favourite stories, resources and jobs. They're written by me, Grace, so if you have suggestions for what you'd be interested in seeing in here, please find me on Slack or hit reply and let me know.

We're really excited to be kicking off three new Fellowships across Queensland and Victoria next week. We'll have more information about the specific projects and the teams behind them soon, but we can tell you we'll be partnering with Queensland Housing, City of Melbourne and the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission for these Fellowships!

We're also launching into our first round of the Sandpit program in Sydney, tomorrow night. And, if that wasn't enough, in just over a month we'll be running our second Tech for Non Tech class in Melbourne for the year. We're at capacity for our Sydney Sandpit, but if you're interested in participating in our Melbourne intake later this year, let me know. We do also have spots left at Tech for Non Tech.

On the personal front, I'm lucky to be travelling to Georgia this week to participate in the OGP Conference in Tbilisi. If you want me to share notes, or chat to me about what was discussed, feel free to reach out. If you missed it, Alvaro slept under the stars a few weeks ago to raise crucial funds for those facing homelessness. There's still time to put a few dollars in, to help him reach his goal of $5,000.

If you have any questions about the updates above or content below, you can reach out to me at anytime but simply hitting reply, or by chatting to me on Slack (@grace).

Small steps in a good direction lead to great things. Here's a few things we think are definitely worth celebrating.

Our friends in Romania have announced they will be hosting the annual Code for All conference this year - a time for all of the Code for partners to come together and learn with civic tech practitioners from the world over. We'd love to see some of you there!

On the international front, there's also a great story of collaboration between Codeando México (Code for Mexico) and Code for Romania, who recently teamed up to redeploy disaster relief technology.
